Some form of group chat app is the way to go. Other choices are email and group texting. There are many benefits to using GroupMe for group texting and access by website (phone and computer accounts sync), credible (owned by Microsoft) and it's free. Do NOT load your contacts when prompted. In addition to communicating quickly and easily, it has great functionality like calendaring to allow anyone to schedule match play and practices, social events, and more. Download the app from your app store and create an online account. Both. Read more here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m8jo_LR80IZQDf9Ne_KegnPx59DRs2BeNfKyGzbXrp0/edit?usp=sharing
In the spirit of transparency, using Google Sheet to keep track of player availability can be a lifesaver to not only the leader but to the players as well. Knowing who can play and when, prevents a last minute panic or quick change to the doubles line and lineup. Plus, using Google sheet allows each player to own her schedule, so you, as organizer don't have to. Share and allow edit access to all players, and push out the availability responsibility to each player. If you choose to use Google Sheet, use this team roster template to manage availability. Download the Google Sheet app from your app store. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n3uVW6TjxpChqtdsmw7hszlCqV6vFPxwANbmAdKmgzA/edit#gid=1882232644
Is your team leader collecting the fee? Need to pay a shared team expense when your team goes to Districts? We recommend two apps: Venmo (owned by Paypal) and Splitwise. Venmo allows you to pay someone quickly with funds tied to your bank account (if you set it up that way) and Splitwise will track a shared group expense and it settles up for you, to divide up who owes what and to whom. Moving money using Venmo is easier and faster for the organizers. It takes 30 minutes to set up a Venmo account if you link it to your bank. Download the apps from your app store.
