CHALLENGING: One team challenges a team ranked up to two spots up the ladder. Challenges by lower teams can be weekly. You may make a challenge by email, text or phone call with suggesting a specific day, time and court location for the match. The team being challenged may ACCEPT, MODIFY, or DECLINE the challenge.
ACCEPTING A CHALLENGE: When you receive a challenge, respond within 48 hours with the goal of playing the match within one week of the challenge.
MODIFYING THE CHALLENGE: It’s the challenged team who proposes a match time within one week of contact. If the challenge is not responded to, the challenged team forfeits the match and the challenging team takes their place on the ladder.
DECLINING THE CHALLENGE: If a team cannot accept the challenge due to illness, vacation, busy schedule, etc. any reason will do, the challenged team DECLINES the challenge. Although they forfeit the match, this process keeps the ladder moving and allows players to participate in more matches. If the challenged team does not respond within 48 hours, the challenging team receives 2 points in their favor.
MOVING UP the ladder: When a higher seeded team loses, the winning team replaces that team and the losing team moves down one spot. Everyone in between the teams will also move down one spot. If the challenging team loses, no one moves.
